Job Description
This position calls for an individual who possesses effective and positive communication skills and oversees day-to-day operations. The individual must be organized and detail-oriented; have strong problem-solving, decision-making, team-working, and time management skills.
This position’s duties include aiding with operations inventory and directing outside trucks and equipment operators inside the operations area.
The position reports directly to the CFS Team Leader.
Job Context
- Ensures adherence to work procedures,
- Follow the process to ensure cargo care along with its stowage indication & handle IMO Goods as per the requirements of IMDG code
- Direct delivery trucks and help load and unload goods safely
- Participate in cargo loading in order to ensure completeness of load and even distribution of weight
- Receive and tally the assigned goods
- Verify if physical tally match with shipping documents
- Make the arrival notice
- Issue the bin cards and track time storage of cargo in the warehouse accordingly
- Daily check of the Cargo under your supervision and the goods in store are in good conditions
- Pre-alert the Warehouse Supervisor/Team Leader on any discrepancies on seal state prior to breaking it (e.g Seal broken, Wrong seal number…)
- Alert the Warehouse management on state of cargo in case of damaged goods to take provision on eventually claims
- Check import/export documentation to determine cargo contents, and classify goods into different fee or tariff groups, using a tariff coding system
- Guides Equipment drivers in work area during operations
- Assists outside truckers in locations references
- Records and informs Supervisor of work-related accidents
- Monitors operations in yard and recording damages,
- Ensures containers are stacked properly in yard i.e. vertically aligned and empty containers don’t have IMO labels
- Submits all documents and information to incoming shift
- Ensures adherence to procedures during storms.
- Adhere, respect and implement safety in work area
- Performs any other tasks assigned by superior
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- High school Diploma, one-year university
- 1 to 2 years’ experience in the field
- Ability to work in a high-pressured environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to simultaneously manage multiple initiatives
